Local market in Piazza Alessandria

A unique place to experience the daily life of Rome. The local market in Piazza Alessandria is one of the oldest markets in Rome, along with that of Testaccio, Via Cola di Rienzo and Villa Borghese. It takes place in the vicinity of what it was in the early twentieth century the Peroni brewery, an Art Nouveau building with a distinctive small tower. The stalls for fruit, vegetables, fish, local meat and various delicatessens are very traditional.
